Yearly Bath?

Scripture reading

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.
–2 Corinthians 2:14

Thought of the Day

The advent of the Internet perhaps has done more to distribute mindless information than any other thing. (Please no comments about these thoughts) A while back my brother sent me a page of such information about life in the 1500’s. Did you know that most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May and they still smelled pretty well by June? A yearly bath? As a youth director I know that sleep and showers are overrated, but only one bath a year? The article went on to add that even by June some brides started to smell, so brides began carrying a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. So the next time you go to a wedding, just wonder why the bride… Never mind.
I love our scripture for today because of the idea that the knowledge of Jesus the Christ is a fragrance sweeter than any bouquet of flowers anywhere. Take a deep breath.

Prayer

Jesus, Let me breathe you in all I do. Amen.
