What About Jesus?

Scripture Reading

I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.

Jeremiah 31:3

Thought of the Day

How are you doing? These words are ones that we say all the time, and sometimes we don’t care how people are really doing. I am guilty of this, I admit. Not this time. I really do care how you are doing. It is still rough out there. Please be careful. Please let me know how I can pray for you and yours.

Clive Staples Lewis was one of the most influential Christian writers of the twentieth century. A collection of his writings and sayings was published in 1996 some thirty-three years after his death. The name of this book is The Joyful Christian. It is a great and interesting read. Here is a great quote by Mr. Lewis.

What are we to make of Jesus Christ?  This is a question which has, in a sense, a frantically comic side. For the real question is not what are we to make of Christ, but what is He to make of us.

I love these words. Too often I think, we spend too much time trying to bring Jesus into our lives and our world, instead of committing our lives totally to His Way and His world. The Bible tells us that we are created in God’s image and that we are loved with an everlasting love. We are drawn with loving-kindness. That is what Jesus makes of us. That is the great news today!

Lord, Help me to shine in Your Amazing Light! Amen.
