Scripture reading
Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.
–1 Thessalonians 5:24
Thought of the Day
The game won’t be the same without the old guy there. Oliver Pellerin died a couple of weeks ago. I imagine that there will be a moment of silence or something for Mr. Pellerin next September at University of Southern California’s first football game. Why? Because Oliver Pellerin was one of USC’s most faithful fans. Oliver has not missed a regular season game, either home or away, since 1945. Yes, I said, 1945. That was 637 straight games in a row. Amazing so, that is not the USC record. It was held by his brother, Giles who attended 797 straight games before he died at the 1998 USC-UCLA game at the Rose Bowl. I imagine that Giles wouldn’t have wanted to go any other way.
Now these are two faithful guys. The article I read didn’t say if they were married or not. I’ll let you speculate on that. As faithful as the Pellerin brothers were, they do not even approach the faithfulness of God. Never ever forget that.
Prayer
Father, Thank you for never giving up on me. Amen.
