The Cure

Scripture reading

Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.

–Acts 5:42

Thought of the Day

I recently read a magazine article about “The Cure”. It listed over twenty-five somewhat common problems that some people face in their daily lives. Got a paper cut? Super glue is the cure. Are you always late for things? Get a drill sergeant to get in your face and “motivate” you to be on time. Do you have smelly feet? The cure is to address the shoes. Now that either means that you have to clean and powder the offending shoes, or in some cases it may mean to actually address your shoes and mail them out of the country to get rid of them. Hate it when you get a brain freeze? To cure one, either ease up on the ice cream, or press your tongue against the roof of your mouth. This re-warms the soft palate and calms the cranial nerve. Got a problem with indecisiveness? Flip a coin. Most of the time, when the coin is in the air, you will figure out whether you want heads or tails to come up.

Now you know the cure for some of life’s issues and problems. I have also recently read some things about the cure for all of life’s issues or problems. It is a cure that doesn’t always make the issue or problem go away, but it is something that makes it easier to deal with. Actually it isn’t a something, it is a man. I think you may have heard of Him. He is Jesus the Christ.

Prayer

Jesus, You are the answer I am searching for. Amen.
