Scripture reading
I lift up my eyes to the hills- where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
–Psalm 121:1-2
Thought of the Day
I wonder if this scripture for today was running through Gladys Wyse’s mind the day she grabbed the wrong bottle? You see, Gladys reached for a bottle of eye drops one day and instead grabbed a bottle of Superglue. She applied the contents to one eye and glued the lids together. Not the best moment for Gladys I imagine. She called the police department who sent a rescue squad to her home and then she was taken to St. Claire’s Hospital in Dover, N.J. Luckily, doctors were able to treat Gladys and “unglue” her eye and send her home. She will not have any permanent eye damage.
Now I don’t know if Gladys is open to any advice, but maybe just maybe she should not keep her Superglue right next to her eye drops. Perhaps also she should not keep her Superglue right next to her toothpaste, nor should she keep her Superglue right next to anything that she might not want to stick together. I imagine that next time she needs eye drops she will check that bottle twice.
Prayer
Lord, I lift my eyes to you. Amen.
