Strong Shoes

Scripture Reading

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1

Thought of the Day

If you have not read the book, “The Hiding Place,” you need to. It is the story of Corrie ten Boom and her family, a Dutch family, who lived in Holland in World War II. They were Christians, who helped some of the Jewish people escape the Nazi hatred and wrath. They were eventually captured by the Nazis and sent to a concentration camp. As you can imagine, Corrie’s faith was tested during her imprisonment. In spite of the pain and heartache of being the only one in her family to survive, Corrie’s faith remained strong. After her release, she was able to share her faith story with so many in such a great way. I love this quote of Corries.

If God sends us on stony paths, He provides strong shoes.

It is safe to say that we are in a tough place in our world today. We can get strength from God in times like this. Now I do not believe that God caused the stupid virus we are fighting now. I do believe that God provides us with strong shoes, strong friends and family, and strong resolve to help ourselves and others deal with the things of the world. Lean on God for help. It makes a difference.

Prayer

Loving Father, help me to never forget that You are always with me. You are there to catch me when I stumble and pick me up when I fall. Amen.
