Strength

Scripture Reading

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

Thought of the Day

I hope you are coming to grips with this new normal we are living in. We all can work to have more patience. We also can work to find more peace in our lives. Figure out what it is that brings you peace. It is probably not watching the news all day and night long. It can be walking more, reading the Bible more, praying more, and contacting others from afar more. Good luck out there.

Wallace Fridy was a Methodist minister in South Carolina for many tears. I found this prayer that he wrote that I think is important for us today. Here it is:

O God, help us to be generous in our opinions of others
to be considerate of all we meet,
to be patient with those with whom we work,
to be faithful to every trust,
to be courageous in the face of danger,
to be humble in all our living,
to be prayerful every hour of the day,
to be joyful in all life’s experience,
and to be dependent upon Thee
for strength in facing life’s uncertainties.

Now the first nine lines of this prayer are important, but the key line is the last line. there is no question that we are living in uncertain times. We are not sure what tomorrow might bring. We do know that there will be light at the end of this tunnel. Hopefully sooner than later. We all need to ask God for strength as we face today, tomorrow, and the next. Remember, God is with us.

Prayer

Lord, give me Your strength. Amen.
