Scripture reading
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
–John 3:16
Thought of the Day
There is a great story about Gaylord Kambarami, the former General Secretary of the Bible Society in Zimbabwe, Africa. Once, he tried very hard to give a New Testament to a very stubborn non-believer. The man finally took the Book, but insisted that he would use the pages to roll cigarettes for him to smoke. Mr. Kambarami still gave it to him, but asked him to read each page before he smoked it. The man agreed and the two men went their separate ways. Fifteen years later, the two men re-met at a church conference. The man had found Christ and was now a full time evangelist spreading God’s Word. He said these words, “I smoked Matthew, and I smoked Mark, and I smoked Luke. When I got to John 3:16, I couldn’t smoke anymore. My life was changed from that moment.”
I hope that you don’t smoke, but I hope and pray that you will read each and every page of the New Testament. If you do, and you hold the Word of God in your heart, then your life will be changed! That is the Good News, today!
Prayer
Lord, Let Your words change me, today. Amen
