Scripture Reading
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.
1 Peter 2:9
Thought of the Day
Let me warn you that this might be one of my most random thoughts ever. I realize at times that I tend to make some giant stretches to connect things to God and make some things worthy of a thought of the day. Today might be such a day.
Back in 2006, Muhammad Noor Che Musa married Wook Kundor. This happy union occurred in northern Malaysia. It was the first marriage for the thirty-three year-old happy groom and the twenty-first marriage for the one hundred four year old blushing bride. It might have been love at first sight for Muhammad but doubtful for Wook. No way her one hundred four-year-old eyes are that great. Now I know what you are probably thinking. At first glance, twenty-one marriages seems like a lot, but you have to take into account that old Wook has been around for a long, long time. In case you are wondering, the news account did not say if Muhammad asked the bride’s father for her hand in marriage. The article did include this comment from the groom. Muhammad said that he “found peace and a sense of belonging in Wook.” A sweet love story for sure.
See, I told you it would come around. We all need peace and a sense of belonging. The good news is that we can find peace in Christ Jesus and that we belong to God. Our amazing God has called us out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
Prayer
Lord above, You are the light of my world. Amen.
