I hope you were able to celebrate Easter in this new way this year. Please continue to be careful and stay in a safe place. Things will get better hopefully sooner than later; we just have to have patience. Good luck this week. Please let me know of any prayer concerns. Hang in there.
Scripture Reading
Psalm 121:1-2
Thought of the Day
Charles Haddon Spurgeon was an English preacher who lived in the mid 1800’s. He led a large congregation and was a most famous minister. It was estimated that Spurgeon often preached to over ten thousand people without the benefit of sound systems and microphones. I guess he was also known for his booming voice and ability to project.
I recently read a quote that Dr. Spurgeon had about Jesus. Here it is.
I have a great need for Christ; I have a great Christ for my need.
That reminds me of similar thing I heard one time. Now I am all about prayer so don’t miss the point of this. Think about this.
Instead of telling God how big your problem is, tell your problem how big your God is.
Both of these quotes are great words of wisdom and faith. Sometimes we tend to get overwhelmed with things in our lives. They seem large and foreboding. I love the idea of trying to focus on how overwhelming God is with His love and grace and forgiveness. I like the image of being overwhelmed by God.
Prayer
Lord, No matter how big You are, I know I still matter to You. Amen.
