Scripture reading
Praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord who minister by night in the house of the Lord. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord.
–Psalm 134:1-2
Thought of the Day
Each Thanksgiving our family, along with some friends from our church prepares and serves a meal in a neighborhood just outside of downtown Houston. It has become a tradition that our whole family looks forward to each year. We normally set up in the parking lot next to the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church and serve the turkey and dressing with all the fixings. This year, as soon as we set up the tables, it began to rain. The minister there, Brother Elmo with his usual positive attitude, said, it was not a problem; we will just set up inside the church. He opened the doors to the church and we set the tables up in the tiny narthex. In order to have room to serve the plates, we then opened the doors to the sanctuary. As we served the plates, it struck me that we were in the right spot to feed His people. The doors to His sanctuary were flung open to serve others. We were in a small way, praising God. We lifted our hands in the sanctuary of the Lord, feeding His sheep. It was an amazing feast.
Prayer
Lord, I want to praise You. Amen.
