Scripture reading
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
–Matthew 5:16
Thought of the Day
There is an old story about a little boy who attended a church that had great stained glass windows depicting the early saints of the church. Saints Matthew, Luke, John, and Paul each had their own window with glorious streams of light shining through. One day the little boy was in Sunday School and the teacher began to talk about saints. She asked him to tell her what a saint was. This is what he said. “A saint is a person the light shines through.”
Think about the saints in your life. I bet you are blinded by their light. Take a look at yourself. Who are you blinding with your light? Who is seeing your good deeds and praising their Father in heaven?
Prayer
Lord, Shine through me! Amen.
