The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.
Thought of the Day
I love the opening words in song from the musical, GODSPELL, from the 1970’s. They are taken from our scripture for today. The show begins with John the Baptist’s voice crying in the wilderness. You remember John the Baptist, don’t you? He was not the Sherwin Williams salesman shouting “repaint, repaint”. The word was repent. John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus by calling for the people to repent, to change their ways.
As we approach Easter Sunday, we need to remember the words of John. We need to make sure that we are prepared for Jesus. We need to make sure that we are ready to change our ways. We need to make sure that we are ready to be changed by the Risen Lord. Be prepared!
Lord, change me, shape me, love me. Amen.
