Prayer

Scripture reading

Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.

–Proverbs 16:3

Thought of the Day

Charles de Foucauld was a Trappist monk who lived in the mid to late 1800’s. He was an explorer of Morocco who felt the call of God on his heart during his travels and returned to devote his life to living a life worthy of Christ. His goal became to “carry the Gospel to the most abandoned… not by preaching it but by living it.” Here is one of his prayers:

Father, I abandon myself into your hands. Do with me whatever you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you. I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me, and in all of your creatures.
Into your hands I commend my spirit.
I offer it to you with all the love that is in my heart.
For I love you, Lord, and so want to give myself, to surrender myself into your hands, without reserve and with boundless confidence,
For you are my Father. Amen.

I think I will keep this prayer pretty close for a while. Why don’t you do the same?

Prayer

Father, Let this prayer also be my prayer. Amen.
