Scripture reading
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will now that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
–John 13:34-35
Thought of the Day
As much as we sometimes complain about the Postal Service, they do face an enormous task of delivering the mail. Annually they deliver over 160 billion pieces of mail through the rain and sleet and snow and ice. They could greatly reduce that amount if they would stop sending me all those credit card applications I just throw away. The percentage number of personal letters that make up that 160 billion blew me away. Personal cards and letters account for less than 4 % of the total. Only four out of every hundred letters sent are personal. It seems to me that that number is way too low. We are not writing each other enough letters. I realize that me saying this via an e-mail is somewhat conflicting, but I think you can catch my drift. Maybe this is the day that you decide to help change that percentage a bit. Maybe today is the day that you decide to write some personal notes to those that you love. Maybe this is one way that we can show that we do have love for one another.
Prayer
Father, Help me to show others that I love them. Amen.
