Scripture reading
Come let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care.
–Psalm 95:6,7
Thought of the Day
A couple of weekends ago, I spent the night up at the church with our senior SALT leaders. It was quite late, or I guess quite early in the morning would be more correct. We were in the sanctuary. We sang several praise songs and then spent some time at the altar in prayer. I had intended for us
to just spend a few minutes in closing since we had been pretty busy all night. We had just returned from a little Rockin’ Bowlin’, where the music was loud and the lights were flashing. I just wanted us to spend a moment in the sanctuary before we went to bed. I just knew that everyone was tired and ready to crash. I was so wrong! I can’t tell you how special our time was that night. To see so many youth spend so much time on their knees totally focusing of God was awesome. As I was walking out, I saw one of our senior girls just standing looking at the cross of Jesus Christ. I stood there with her for a moment and saw that she was overcome with emotion. I gave her a hug and she whispered, “He’s so amazing. I’m so proud to be a part of Him”.
I’ll never forget that moment. Jenny said it all that night. She knew what it meant to be the people of His pasture, to be the flock under His care.
Prayer
Jesus, You are so amazing. I am so proud to be a part of you. Amen.
