Back in the 1800’s during the rush to California, Levi Strauss decided to go west to make his fortune. He set out with a load of heavy canvas fabric from which he planned to sell sections for tents and wagon covers. Upon arrival, the first miner who saw his product said, “You should have brought pants.” The workers there could not find pants strong enough to endure the rough conditions of mining. Levi Strauss immediately made the guy a pair of work pants and struck “gold”. He made the most of that opportunity.
Now I don’t think that I can make a pair of jeans as well as Mr. Strauss, but I can live my life looking for opportunities to “do good” to others. Guess what? You can too.
