Scripture reading
Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.
–Isaiah 55:7
Thought of the Day
Don’t even begin to think that I have not thought this through and through. Don’t even suggest that I have not carefully considered all of my options. I am very comfortable with my decision. Do you want to know what I am talking about? I have planned to the last shrimp what I would order for my last meal if I were ever on Death Row in prison. Now I am not planning to ever be on Death Row in prison, but just in case I end up there, I know what I am going to tell the warden to fix up for me. I’ll give you the brief version. Believe you me, I will give the warden all the details. I will start with a shrimp and crab cocktail, leading into an iceberg lettuce salad with tomatoes and blue cheese. I then will move into my steak and baked potato entrée with some type of good bread. I think I will have some steamed asparagus on the side. I will finish up with a sizable piece of chocolate meringue pie. I know you are thinking that I might need to worry about my fat content, but at that point I don’t think that will be a high priority.
The reason why this came to mind today is that I heard on the radio about this guy on death row who was eating his last meal when he got a reprieve from the Governor. The guys on the radio were wondering if he gets another last meal when that reprieve runs out. Now I don’t know what will happen to this guy, but I do know that God freely pardons those who turn towards Him.
Prayer
Lord, have mercy upon me. Amen.
