Knowing Jesus

Scripture reading

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.

–2 Corinthians 2:14

Thought of the Day

Someone gave me a pretty cool book the other day. It is called, “What do you know? 1558 Challenging Questions”. It is pretty interesting. The book is filled with different questions and even some exams on a wide berth of topics. There is a test on Astrology from the Astro-Psychology Institute and a test on auto mechanics from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. I was able to take the test on barbering from the Moler Barber College. If fashion design or floral design is your thing, then I have the test for you. If you are interested in attending college in Japan, then I can let you see the national university entrance exam. If delivering the mail is your goal, then look over the Clerk and Carrier Exam for the Postal Service. I must tell you that I am not as smart as I think I am. I did poorly on most of these exams. It reminds me of a time I was having a little prayer meeting with my son when he was in middle school. He had tried to get away with something and thought that I wouldn’t find out about it. In the heat of our conversation, I asked him if he thought I was stupid. I guess I paused too long or something because he began to answer that rhetorical question. I am pretty sure he was going to answer it incorrectly.
Guess what? I may not know about barbering or astrology or fashion or floral design. (I know that shocks you.) I may not be able to attend college in Japan. Let me tell what I do know. I know that there is a God in Christ Jesus that leads us in a triumphant procession. I know that the knowledge of Jesus is like a sweet fragrance that permeates every part of our being and existence. I know that Jesus loves me and He loves you.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Help me to know You even more. Amen.
