Hope things are going OK for you and yours. My fam is doing fine. Please continue to be safe and smart. We will get to the other side of this I know. Please let me know of any prayer concerns (including the obvious). I would be honored to pray for you. Be careful.
But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Thought of the Day
I love Meat Loaf. Now I know what you are thinking. Steve, it is obvious that you love all kinds of food. Well, I do, but in this case, I am talking about Meat Loaf, the singer. Mr. Loaf and I go a long way back. I know what you are thinking now. If you go a long way back with him, why don’t you call him by his first name. I tried that, but it doesn’t command the same kind of respect that “Mr. Loaf” does. Anyway, back in the day I bought a Meat Loaf CD that was recorded from a VH1 special. It is kind of a greatest hits CD. It had several great songs on it. One song I like is “I’d do anything for love, but I won’t do that”. As I was listening to that song, I thought of something. You know, it is OK for Mr. Loaf to sing that song and say those words, but what if Mr. Christ had done the same two thousand years ago. What if Jesus had come to the earth and lived with the people and fed them and taught them and healed them and touched them, but then said, “I’d do anything for love, but I won’t do that. I won’t die for you?” It would have kind of changed things a bit, wouldn’t it?
The Good News is that Jesus the Christ came to earth and did everything for love, including dying for us. Don’t ever forget that.
Father, Thanks for Your precious love. Amen.
