Scripture reading
We love because He first loved us.
–1 John 4:19
Thought of the Day
I am forever jotting down things that grab me or come to mind on whatever is close at hand at the time. I am surrounded by things that are written on the backs of envelopes, scraps of paper, even a few napkins. The other day, I was cleaning out my car and found a piece of paper that I had written on while driving and I could not remember what it was. It sat on the counter in the kitchen for a few days until my son, Parker saw it and reminded me what it was. I had been listening to a CD that Parker had made for me. The words were from the great theologian, Gladys Knight. (I always wanted to be a Pip!). I had written down a line from the song, “Midnight Train to Georgia”. This is it.
“I’d rather live in His world, than live without Him in mine.”
Great words aren’t they. As I heard them I instantly thought of Christ Jesus and how much I want to sing those words with Gladys and the boys. I always want to be able to sing that I’d rather live in His world, than live without Him in mine. You know, you can sing them, too. It will help us to remember that we don’t have to live without Christ, ever.
Prayer
Holy Father, I want to live with You and in You. Amen.
