Scripture reading
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
–John 11:25-26
Thought of the Day
I consider my wife Beverly to be an extremely lucky woman. Being able to know and be married to me for over thirty years would have to be most special. I do however understand that I might perhaps have one or two things that just might make her regret the day she met me. The good news is that I must have thousands or even millions of things that make her look back on that day we met with happy thoughts. Anyway, I have decided to share with you one of the things that might just might drive her crazy. Actually, I know it bothers her because she may have mentioned it a time or two to me. This is it. I am a scrapper. By that I mean, I collect scraps of paper. I don’t mean whenever I see a scrap of paper, I grab it and add it to my collection. By a scrapper, I mean, when I see or hear something that grabs me I write it down for the future. It may be on paper, a napkin, on whatever. Then, when I get home, sometimes those scraps of paper or whatever ends up wherever. She has learned to not throw away anything. Anyway, I was going through some stuff and found a napkin that had something written on it that sometime ago I liked. I think I was in the car because my handwriting is hard to read and it looks like there is some mustard or ketchup on the napkin. I must have heard this on the radio. I wrote:
I believe in God because He believes in me.
You know, there are a zillion reasons to believe in God but perhaps this is the greatest reason of all. Never ever forget that God believes in you!
Prayer
God, I am a believer! Amen.
