Scripture reading
The Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”
–John 6:35
Thought of the Day
It seems like I am forever on a diet. Or shall I say, I ought to forever be on a diet. A never ending challenge for sure. I am on one now and so far it is working. You know, being on a diet is not much fun, but it does sharpen your senses in a big way. It also makes you appreciate even the little things in life in regard to eating. I am actually counting peanuts, but the peanut instead of the jar. I count crackers by the cracker instead of by the box. I count pizzas by the, no not really, no pizzas on this diet.
I recently read an amazing thing about the average American and pretzels. Are you ready for this fact? The average American eats 17.8 pounds of pretzels a year. Yes, you read correctly. 17.8 pounds a year. Now we can all name several people we know that don’t eat any pretzels a year, so someone out there loves pretzels and is chowing down on pretzel after pretzel.
Figure out where you fit in the average and then figure out that Jesus is the bread of life. Those who come to Him will never go hungry again.
Prayer
Lord, I am hungry for You. Amen.
