Holy Week

Scripture reading

God, who has called you to share everything with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.

–1 Corinthians 1:9

Thought of the Day

I am a little tired. I have not been getting all my beauty sleep this week. I am a late nighter normally. I stay up too late most nights. This week we are having early morning Bible Studies with our youth for Holy Week. I love this time we have together. We come together and eat a meal and have a prayer and then have a short Bible lesson led by one of our youth staff. All week we have handed out smooth river stones with a cross marked on it. We challenge the youth to carry a stone around all week to remind them of the stone that was rolled away at the tomb, to remind them of the cross of Jesus Christ, and finally to remind them to not be ashamed of their faith.
In the Bible lessons we try to help the youth get to the place the disciples were that week a long time ago. We try to get them to stand in the shoes or sandals of those early believers. We want their stories to be interwoven with Jesus’ stories.
I want the same for each of you. I want you to be there with Christ Jesus. I want you to feel the emotions of the week. To see Jesus. To see His Love. To feel His Love. To make His story your story.

Prayer

Lord, You are loving and holy. You are the Messiah. Amen.
