God Writes on Your Heart

Scripture reading

“This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God and they will be my people.”

–Jeremiah 31:33

Thought of the Day

A friend of mine sent me a link to a website that has the most random little facts. Since I am all about random little facts, I went right to it. Here is something that I bet you didn’t know. The average lead pencil will draw a line thirty-five miles long or write approximately 50,000 English words. This blows me away. I want that job, or do I? How long would it take you to go crazy drawing lines with a pencil and then measuring them? Do you start with a ruler and then end up measuring with a car? I wonder what the statistic is for how long erasers last? Will an eraser on a pencil erase a line thirty-five miles long? Why does it always seem that I have a lot of pencil and not much eraser? (Other than I must make a lot of mistakes.) I bet that about on mile thirty-four and a half you are way down to the nub. I guess for the last inch or so you are just smearing your finger covered with graphite on the paper. That is a lot of writing.
I love how our scripture for today affirms how we are connected with God. He also does a lot of writing. He writes things on our hearts. He did it back in the days of Jeremiah and He still does it today. Open up your heart and read it.

Prayer

Lord of us all, I am Yours and You are mine. Amen.
