Scripture reading
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
–Philippians 4:13
Thought of the Day
There is a story about a young man who made his way into a small church in England to escape the bitter cold weather outside. Only a few people showed up for the service scheduled; the minister didn’t even make it there. Finally a member of the church stood up and talked for a while. Most of the people there went home that night thinking their time was wasted. The young man left with a different feeling. Against all odds, he had been converted. Years later, the great Christian author Charles Spurgeon wrote about his life changing experience that night in that little church. These are his thoughts.
“Don’t hold back because you cannot preach in a great cathedral; be content to talk to one or two in a small house. You may cook in small pots as well as big ones. Little pigeons can carry great messages. Even a little dog can bark at a thief, wake up the master and save the house. Do what you do right thoroughly, pray over it heartily, and leave the result to God.”
Never forget that you never know when or how you may witness to others. Never forget that even though you play a part in the production, God is the headliner and star.
Prayer
Lord, Let others see You in me. Amen.
