God is Our Hiding Place

Scripture reading

You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

–Psalm 32:7

Thought of the Day

I recently found a sheet of paper in my files that has all kinds of somewhat mindless information on it. Or at least the information seems somewhat mindless to me. Let me see if you agree. Did you know that Barbie’s full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts? How about that Walk Disney was afraid of mice, or that American car horns beep in the tone of F? This last one is kind of interesting. Did you know that mosquito repellents don’t repel? They hide you. The spray blocks the mosquito’s sensors so they don’t know you’re there.

Now I know what some of you are thinking. How cool would it be to have a spray that might hide you from certain people? I don’t think that will ever work. I do know that whoever wrote our scripture for today knew what would work when we are in trouble or in distress or lonely or sad or whatever. The Lord is a hiding place for us. Never ever forget that fact.

Lord, You always know where I am. Amen.
