The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this; Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
Thought of the Day
I have a little book for college students that is filled with tips for making the most out of their college life. There are words of wisdom from current students and professors. Topics include everything from dorm life to money issues and classroom manners and a whole lot more. There is a whole chapter on note taking. One page is devoted on the key phrases that students need to listen for when taking notes. Here are a few of them. “To sum it up. Remember that. The turning point, and in conclusion.” The author of this book, want students to learn and remember these key phrases in order to succeed in college.
It struck me that perhaps we need to learn and focus on a few key phrases in the Bible in order to succeed in life. I can think of a few. How about “Love the Lord”. Or “Love one another”. Or “May the Lord bless you and keep you”. There are a few thousand more. Why don’t you come up with a few and write them down on a note card and put it somewhere you can see it every morning. What a way to start the day!
Lord, You are the most important thing to me. Amen.
