Scripture reading
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
–Galatians 5:22-23a
Thought of the Day
Last Friday night I had the privilege of hearing Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa speak. It was most amazing. He has a new book out titled, “God has a Dream”. In it he writes the following:
“God says to you, ‘I have a dream. Please help Me to realize it. It is a dream of a world whose ugliness and squalor and poverty, its war and hostility, its greed and harsh competitiveness, its alienation and disharmony are changed into their glorious counterparts, when there will be more laughter, joy, and peace, where there will be justice and goodness and compassion and love and caring and sharing. I have a dream that swords will be beaten into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks, that My children will know that they are members of one family, the human family, God’s family, My family.”
Those are great words. Maybe if we make them our words and make God’s dream our dream, we can make it come true.
Prayer
Lord, I am Yours. Let me see others as Yours, too. Amen.
