Even though I didn’t know Ed Headrick, I already miss Ed Headrick. Ed died earlier this week in California. Do you know his claim to fame? Ed Headrick is the inventor who figured out how to make the frisbee fly fast and straight. Certainly that is an important contribution to society, even though my frisbees don’t always fly fast or straight. Anyway, since Ed was on the forefront of frisbee technology, his family decided to honor him in death in a somewhat different way. Ed’s ashes will be molded into “memorial flying discs” to be distributed to family and friends. I can imagine what the minister said at the service, “Ashes to Ashes, Ed to Frisbees”. I guess that there are some advantages to doing this. It does allow the grandkids to go out and play with their grandfather.
Since this might be a little odd, I think I will focus on our scripture for today. I can think of all kinds of cool ways to remember God and all His wonders.
