Scripture reading
Jesus said, “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
–John 14:25-26
Thought of the Day
A couple of years ago, I bought a little book that was filled with suggestions and tips for incoming freshmen to college that was written by older students. It had some pretty good stuff in it. A sophomore from DePaul University wrote, “Don’t be late or leave early. It really ticks profs off.” A junior from Colgate University wrote, “Volunteer to answer questions you do know, so you won’t be called on for the ones you don’t.” A junior from Duke had this observation, “I’d think to myself, I don’t need to write that down, I’ll remember it. A few days later, it was like, what did he say..?” At the bottom of that page was the note: (Scientifically speaking, you lose 70% of information within 24 hours).
It is a good thing that God read this same book. I guess that is one reason why He sent us the Holy Spirit to remind us of everything Jesus taught us.
Prayer
Father, Keep reminding me. Amen.
