Christ as nourishment

Scripture reading

Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water.

–Revelation 7:16-17

Thought of the Day

It stinks to be sick. Last week I had a stomach bug for a couple of days. I felt so bad the first day I pretty much just laid around in bed. Late that afternoon, I woke up and decided to check out what was on TV. As I was flipping the channels, I came upon a cooking show. I almost lost it again. You know I was sick, if even the sight of food on TV got to me. Luckily, I am back in the saddle, or back at the trough again. Speaking of troughs, I heard a great sermon on TV early Sunday morning. The minister was talking about the coming of the Christ Child and how we should focus on the stable and manger. He reminded everyone that the manger was in actually a feeding trough for the animals. He then connected the image of Christ in that trough and how we are to feed off of Him. I love that image of getting nourished by Jesus. Now I understand our scripture even more.

Prayer

Lord, Help me to focus on the Christ Child. Amen.
