Beta Upsilon Chi

Scripture reading

They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
–Isaiah 35:10

Thought of the Day

I spent this past Friday night and Saturday with around eighty young men who are members of Beta Upsilon Chi Christian fraternity from the University of Texas. These guys are known as Brothers under Christ. They are a great group of guys. I was most impressed with the group. I was most impressed with their Christian fellowship. I was most impressed with their commitment to their faith. Their singing of praise music blew me away. At the beginning of each gathering, a couple of guys would stand up with their guitars and just start singing. Almost instantly, every guy there would begin to sing. It sounded like I can imagine the heavenly chorus must sound like. To see and hear so many young men sing from their hearts was awesome. It was awesome because they weren’t singing for the song leaders. They weren’t singing for me. They weren’t singing for each other. They were singing to God. I have the feeling that God reached down and turned up the volume of His earth radio tuned to those guys when they sang.

Prayer

Lord, Let me sing joyously to you every day of my life. Amen.
